Using Ellipses Correctly
An ellipsis is three periods in a row. Always use three full stops exactly, no more and no less.
An ellipsis can be used to show that something has been left out of a quotation (To be or not... is the question) or to indicate a pause in speech. An ellipsis can also indicate an unfinished thought. Placed at the end of a sentence, it indicates a voice trailing off into silence.
